Super White Car Lights  The first light bulbs used a carbon thread as a filament. Today tungsten filaments is the most used due to its high melting point. Most light bulbs contain some inert gas since the tungsten filament vaporizes quickly in vaccum. the most used gas is argon and nitrogen. But in some lamps the argon is replaced with another gas , like in the halogen lamps and krypton bulbs.

Automotive grade ballasts with boosted power at some points of warmup have circuitry that models the thermal characteristics of the bulb. When you put a blue filter on the bulb or lamp, you are reducing the amount of usable light that gets from the glowing filament to the reflector, to the lens and from there to the road. Unfortunately, these coatings tend to glow blue when viewed off-axis, which has caused problems with people getting pulled over for illegal blue lights 'cause the cop sees blue. The techniques described in this article will yield excellent results only if the work is carried out carefully and to a high standard, with quality parts and materials and without corner-cutting or sloppy work. The automotive hid (high intensity discharge) headlight lamps are often referred to as xenon lamps but they are more of a specialized metal halide lamp than anything else.
